Terrorists opened fire at the entrance to the Shah Cherakh mausoleum in the Iranian city of Shiraz, as a result, two people were killed, both ministers of the shrine, reports Tasnim.
The attackers opened fire on the parishioners and tried to break into the building, but were stopped by return fire from the security forces of the mausoleum, writes Fars.
The agency, citing the governor of Fars province Mohammad-Hadi Imaniye, writes that one person died, four to six were injured. At the same time, an informed source told Fars that seven people were injured. Hojat-ul-Islam Mousavi, the chief judge of Fars province, also informed Tasnim of seven wounded. As Fars clarifies with reference to a representative of the power structures of the province, all the victims are pilgrims.
The deputy governor of the region, Ismail Safli, told IRNA of one dead and eight injured. IRNA, citing a representative of the mausoleum, writes about four dead — two ministers and two pilgrims.
One of the attackers has already been detained by security forces, the second is on the run, writes Fars. According to Tasnim, the first was taken for interrogation. According to the agency, the detained terrorist had a gun and eight magazines of cartridges with him.
After the attack, the entrance to the mausoleum was closed, and the surrounding area was cordoned off to search for terrorists.
